'Jippie no more'

'Metamorphosis'
In 'Metamorphosis', filmmaker and media artist Pim Zwier chooses a highly original form to depict the life and work of the German artist Maria Sibylla Merian (1647-1717) Her most important work revolved around the metamorphosis of caterpillars into butterflies: she recorded the process in beautiful prints and engravings. Pim Zwier started breeding caterpillars himself to document their pupation in close-up. The film includes stunning footage of the process.

In the late '90s, Margriet van der Linden, a former US correspondent, witnessed shocking hate crimes in the US. Nearly thirty years later, she revisits the infamous hate crime sites. Margriet interviews families, witnesses, and residents still affected. In 5 episodes the series draws parallels with today's reality in the US.
